WHAT IS XEOMIN AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Introducing Xeomin, the Botox alternative that may be better than Botox for some. Xeomin is a cosmetic dermal filler that is made from the incobotulinumtoxinA (also called as the botulinum toxin type A). It is designed to reduce and prevent the occurrence of fine lines and deep wrinkles on the face.

It is a type of neurotoxin that blocks the signals which stimulate the creasing of skin. By blocking muscle activity in the face, Xeomin prevents sagging of the facial muscles and skin; thereby giving you beautiful, tight skin.

The Xeomin filler is significantly safer than Botox and Dysport because it doesn’t contain any other ingredients, additives and unwanted proteins, other than the botulinum toxin type A. This makes Xeomin a pure product, that is extremely safe to use.

HISTORY OF XEOMIN

Reputed cosmetics pharmaceuticals company Merz Pharmaceuticals developed Xeomin. The company developed the product as a sustainable, quick acting and easy-to-use product to treat a variety of health concerns like blepharospasm (an involuntary spasm of the eyelids), upper limb spasticity, cervical dystonia (uncontrollable neck contractions) and chronic sialorrhea (excessive salivation due to loss of control over facial muscles).

Given how Xeomin acts as a neuro-inhibitor and prevents the extreme spasming of the facial muscles, it was also observed how easily it prevented the formation of wrinkles, frown lines and fine lines in patients.

Today, Xeomin is one of the most trusted products for treating facial lines. If you would like to schedule a Xeomin treatment, please reach out to one of our team members at St. George Med Spa. We are one of the leading cosmetic rejuvenation facilities in Utah.

ELIGIBILITY FOR TREATMENTS WITH XEOMIN

Xeomin treatments are extremely safe and body-friendly, offering successful treatment programs that are ideal for both men and women. Individuals between 18 & 65 years of age, who have not been expressly advised against cosmetic treatments like Xeomin, are the perfect candidates for the treatment.

While the Xeomin treatment doesn’t involve any extensive medical procedure, it is still advisable that you stop taking medications a week before the treatment. If you have been expressly advised by your physician to take medication, please speak to our specialists at St. Georg Med Spa. We can advise you about the best time to undergo the treatment.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to start a family, it is recommended that you not undergo this procedure.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT PROCEDURE LIKE?

The Xeomin treatment starts with a consultation with one of our medical professionals at St. George Med Spa. Our specialists will conduct an evaluation and discuss your goals, to understand the extent of treatment you may require. Next, we will discuss with you your requirements and will help you understand what you can expect from the treatment.

Just like with other fillers, such as Botox, Xeomin is an outpatient procedure and you can visit our facility in Utah to get it done. During the treatment, the Xeomin filler is injected into the areas of your face where there are signs of:

  • Fine lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Frown lines
  • Smoker’s lines
  • Bunny lines
  • Chin dents
  • Forehead lines
  • Light-to-medium wrinkles

Typically, these regions of the face are the Glabella (at the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows), the forehead, the mouth and the sides of the eyes.

The procedure starts with our medical injector applying a numbing agent on the treatment areas. This is a type of local anesthetic and its effects wear off in a few hours. Once your face is numb, an injection filled with Xeomin will be injected into the selected areas of your face. Once injected, our specialist will allow the Xeomin to settle and work. The entire procedure normally lasts less than an hour. You can return to work or your normal activities immediately after the treatment.

POST-TREATMENT RECOVERY

It can be common to experience tenderness in the areas of the face where treatment was performed. The areas where the Xeomin was injected may lightly throb for an hour or two. But this will reduce completely in a relatively short period of time.

One of the top benefits of Xeomin is how light it feels on the face. Unlike Botox which can feel really heavy and lumpy at times, Xeomin is absolutely light on the skin. This is mainly because of the absence of proteins and additives which make the filler so heavy.

Right after the Xeomin treatment, you will be asked not to touch your face, as this may disperse the Xeomin into other places. You are also asked not to move or twitch your facial muscles too much, to avoid further stretching of the skin. Avoid exercises like weight lifting, yoga, rowing, etc, which may cause you to move your facial muscles too much.

Applying a cold compress on the treated areas of the face will help your face heal faster and return to its normal shape and size. You can apply make-up a day after the procedure.

With our Xeomin treatments, you can turn back the hands of time and boost your self-confidence and appearance. Feeling beautiful and loving how you look are just an appointment away.
