Wrinkles and lines occur when the bonds of collagen in your skin break down or lessen. This can happen due to many different factors. As the muscles underlying your skin move, your skin expands and contracts, leading to the formation of grooves and lines in your skin. Dysport is what we call a neuromodulator. When it is injected into your skin, Dysport temporarily stops any neural messages which stimulate facial movement from reaching the muscles in your face. The limited facial movement ensures your skin remains taut and doesn’t become loose.

Both Botox and Dysport are derived from the same bacteria Clostridium botulinum. They are both neuromodulators. The difference lies in their formulation. Dysport is more diluted than Botox, making it a great first-time injection for anti-aging. You are asked to sit in our treatment chair, and a member of our team will gently cleanse your face or remove any make-up you may have on. Then, we take a fresh syringe and a new vial with Dysport and inject it into the various treatment sites. The entire procedure takes about 15-20 minutes and can be done during your lunch break.
There is no downtime with Dysport and you can return to your normal routine immediately after. Your face may appear slightly inflamed, and the injection sites may feel tender. But these symptoms will go away soon. Don’t touch your face too often post-treatment. Avoid going in the sun or taking hot baths for about 24 hours. Apply soothing moisturizer and choose skin-friendly cosmetics for the next 24-48 hours.
