Sculptra is sterile, biocompatible, and biodegradable. Over time, your body will replace the polymer in Sculptra with your naturally-produced collagen. Results can be seen as early as 24 hours and last up to a year.

Following each injection, you may notice a little redness or swelling at the injection site, but those effects tend to resolve on their own.
You can resume most activities immediately after your Sculptra treatment, although you should wait at least 24 hours before strenuous exercise, indoor tanning beds, UV lamps, extended sun exposure, or extreme temperatures. The first recommendation is the “Five, Five, Five Rule.” Massage your treatment area for five minutes, five times a day, for the first five days following treatment. You can also apply ice to the treatment area within the first 24 hours after treatment to minimize any swelling that may happen.
While you may see an immediate reduction in wrinkles after treatment, it may be due to initial swelling. Don’t be surprised if you see your wrinkles mildly improve and then return after your first injection. That’s to be expected. However, as the weeks progress, you will notice a gradual increase in volume in the treatment area. Your wrinkles and folds will become less obvious, and your complexion will look more youthful. These improvements will continue through your treatment cycle and beyond as the Sculptra stimulates your natural collagen production.
